The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical

The beloved adventure comes to life on stage, directed by the wonderful Stephan Nieman. Spotlight Repertory NW is seeking performers ages 12 and older for this epic mythological modern musical. Audition registration is open now!

Audition Dates

June 1 or June 2, 5:00–7:00 pm

Rehearsals Begin

June 22 — Monday through Friday, 3:30–9:00 pm Inglewood Middle School

Age Requirement: Open to performers ages 12 to adult.

Audition Details

Auditions will be held in person at Sammamish Hills Lutheran Church’s Fellowship Hall. There will be 3–5 casting directors at the audition, and we will record your audition to assist with casting decisions.

Please prepare:

  • A one-minute monologue
  • 16–32 bars of a musical theater song (verse and chorus)
  • Bring your sheet music in the key you’ll be singing, clearly marked; an accompanist will be provided
  • Resume and headshot (optional)
  • Stay flexible, take direction, and make bold character choices

Callbacks

If you’re called back, you will be asked to attend a dance callback on June 6 from 2–4 PM and a final callback on June 7 from 2–6 PM. You will be given materials to prepare for your callback.

What Happens Next?

  • Casting decisions will be made by the directors, and you will be notified
  • You will be given the opportunity to accept or decline the role; tuition is due upon acceptance
  • Full conflict calendars will be shared, and you will be invited to the cast and parent kick-off meeting
  • Rehearsals begin June 22 and will be held Monday–Friday from 3:30–9:00 PM

Tuition and Volunteer Hours

Tuition for the production is $899. Tuition covers program costs, including licensing rights, a professional creative team, a live pit orchestra, rehearsal venue, and the Redmond Performing Arts Center.

Scholarships are available to ensure every performer can participate—please contact us for details.

Cast members and their families are expected to contribute ten hours of volunteer time to support the success of the production. Buyout options are available.
